These air fryer garlic knots are the perfect appetizer or snack. Completely made from scratch, they take only 8 minutes to cook!

If you're searching the internet for a delicious air fryer appetizer or snack, look no further than air fryer garlic knots! These tasty treats are easy to make and only take 5 minutes to cook.
They are made from scratch with just a few simple ingredients that can be found in your kitchen pantry, and major plus... they're sure to please even the pickiest of eaters!
When you make garlic knots in the air fryer, they come out to be crispy and golden brown with a wonderful flavor and still perfectly fluffy on the inside - so much better than anything you would get from the freezer section of your grocery store!
Ingredients

Lukewarm Water - This is for helping the yeast proof. You'll want to make sure it's between 105 degrees and 115 degrees to activate, but not kill the yeast.
Sugar - This isn't a sweet recipe, but in order to activate, the yeast needs sugar to eat.
Active Dry Yeast - This yeast works fast, and gives you that rise you're looking for!
Bread Flour - Bread flour has a higher protein content than all-purpose flour. You can swap out all-purpose flour, but you'll likely get a wetter batter and need to add more.
Salt - This will help bring out the flavor of the dough.
Olive oil - This is for drizzling the garlic knots, but also for drizzling in the bowl before adding the dough. It helps to keep the rising dough from sticking to the sides of the bowl.
Butter - Everything is better with butter. Period.
Egg - The egg wash adds just a liiiittle crunch to the outside and gives you that beautiful golden brown color.
Garlic - The star of the recipe! I use minced garlic, but you can also use fresh, or brush on garlic powder. If you're a big fan of garlic, feel free to pile it on! But if garlic isn't your thing you can definitely lower it or leave it out of the recipe completely.
Italian Blend Seasoning and Grated Parmesan - Though optional, these both add a great finishing flavor to your garlic knots! I highly recommend adding them for the best taste!
How to make air fryer garlic knots

- In a large bowl, stir the water and sugar together. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and gently stir into the water. Let sit for 10 minutes until the yeast is foamy.
- Place the bread flour and salt into a large bowl and add the yeast mixture and 1/4 cup of olive oil. Use a rubber spatula and stir until well combined.
- Spritz a clean bowl with cooking spray and place the dough into the bowl to let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- On a lightly floured work surface, press the dough into a 8-inch by 9-inch rectangle.
- Using a pizza cutter, slice the dough into 8 1-inch wide strips.
- Tie each strip into a knot then tuck the edges under the knot and gently press together so it will hold shape. Do this with the remaining strips of dough then let them rise for an additional 15 minutes.
- Preheat the air fryer to 370 degrees. In a small bowl, mix the remaining one tablespoon of olive oil, with the garlic and melted butter. Brush the mixture over each garlic knot until well coated.
- Sprinkle the Italian seasoning and 2 tablespoons of parmesan over the garlic knots. Bake for 8 minutes or until the knots are golden brown and cooked through. Sprinkle with the remaining 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese and let cool 5 minutes before serving.
